This fresh tasting Rose is made from the Pinot Noir grapes of sunny Burgundy. While the wine has little contact with the red grape skins during the vinification process, it still manages to give it its beautiful pink hue and imparts a fresh, berry flavour. The Jaffelin winery, from which this bottle comes, has long had a strong focus on bringing out the very best of the grapes which they use. As the smallest Wine house in Burgundy, they utilise a mix of high-tech equipment with long held traditional methods in order to respect the grapes terrior- the unique taste of the region from which it comes. First the grapes are picked and sorted in small quantities before going through a careful mechanical press which results in a clear Wine without any bitterness. After the pressing and filtering process is over the Wine is then aged in old oak barrels in the traditional manner, giving it an extra depth of flavour. The final product is a sweet Rose with hints of strawberry and a dry, crisp finish. Serve chilled with a generous dose of the Great British sunshine, friends a great meal.
