Taylor's 30 Year Old Tawny Port 75cl
- ABV: 48.6%
Taylor’s is one of the few remaining wine houses that continues to produce a 30-year old aged tawny port – making it a rare gem.
Taylor’s 30 year old aged tawny port is matured in seasoned oak casks in Portugal’s Vila Nova de Gaia – a city renowned for its Port cellars. The cool, damp climate of Gaia is perfect for port production as it leads to a slow and gentle ageing which adds complex aromas.
It is only every few years that a reserve of Port is laid aside to age in these casks – in order to reach its potential the Port needs to have sufficient structure, power and fruit. Reaching their peak after 30 years, they are blended together to ensure they are consistent in quality and style.
The deep golden hue of this Port hints at the notes the bottles holds – dried fruit and honey, balanced with richer, nutty aromas. Smooth caramel and butterscotch flavours add to the distinctive Taylor’s 30 year old tawny port.
